I've had these (bought in-store, not on Amazon) and I found them here to bookmark for a later order. I am surprised by the negative review on the flavor and I had to contribute my own because I LOVE the taste. Golden berries themselves (or gooseberries, as I know them) have a very bright, tart flavor that's sweet and delicious, and finishes with just a hint of tomato. I was a little worried that the dried fruit might bring out the tomato flavor, but it's not detectable. These are not sweetened, and they are like what we all wish unsweetened cranberries tasted like: tart, slightly naturally sweet, and not at all bitter. I intended to save some to mince up into some butter cookies, but devoured them all as-is instead. HIGHLY recommended on flavor alone, if you like mouth-puckeringly, vibrantly, deliciously tart berries that are just sweet enough and not bitter.

100% Certified Organic Golden BerriesGolden berries, also known as Incan berries, are one of the lost crops of the Incas, and one of the few select foods grown at the ancient mountaintop citadel of Machu Picchu. A nutritional powerhouse, golden berries contain vitamins C and A, iron, pectin, vitamin B3, and have a mouth-watering, tangy sweetness that you'll love - and kids will too. The Sunfood DifferenceSunfood's golden berries are grown high in the Andes by indigenous farmers who have been perfecting the art of growing this fruit for centuries. Growing golden berries at just the right altitude is crucial, as the fluxuation between night and day temperatures regulates the flavor of the fruit. After harvest, the berries are gently dried at low temperatures to preserve nutrients and keep vitamins and minerals intact.
